Jobs at Briico

If you want to work with a passionate, professional team helping immigrant and refugee small business owners… you’re in the right place.

About Us

Briico is an innovative startup driven by one bold vision: that every aspiring entrepreneur in the US -- especially immigrants and refugees -- have the tools and support they need to grow a small business.

A reality of our company right now is that we’re changing fast, growing fast, and learning on the fly. That means that our team members need to be able to adapt, problem-solve, deal with some amount of ambiguity, and stay positive and solutions-oriented when things are challenging.

Our Values

Integrity comes first.

We align what we believe, what we do, and what we say. We are honest with each other, our customers, and our community. We are fair. We remember: how you do it is what you get.

Excellent Communication

We’re thorough and thoughtful in our written and verbal communication. We remember that respect is inherent in good communication.

Bricolage

Briico comes from the French word bricolage. It's about DIY, experimentation, and honoring the value of what we have (culturally, financially, societally, and personally) as well as what we envision.

Professionalism

We’re professionals -- internally and externally. We are hardworking, exceed expectations, and have the highest standards for our work.

We bring our full selves to work.

We are vulnerable and bring our authentic selves to work. We prioritize what is good for our hearts. We are ourselves unashamedly. And we work to make our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion real.

Briico Business Program Intern

About The Role:
We’re looking for an intern for our Briico Business program. While technically an internship, this role will be really core to the program. You’ll have the chance to have a big impact on a brand new, impactful, interesting program, and to learn a lot of skills as you go. While some of the work will be execution oriented (sometimes repetitive), there will also be a opportunities for creativity, engagement, and initiative. You’ll be working closely with our clients, who are mostly immigrant/refugee business owners. Specifically, some of your projects will include:

  • Support & Training to business owners to encourage them to apply to our program, answer questions, and provide program support. This may include “sales” and answering questions, so that’s something you should be comfortable doing.

  • Business Owner Support. This might mean filling out forms for a business owner, designing a new flyer in Canva, or other small projects for business owners (in collaboration with your team at Briico of course.)

  • Content creation. We’ll likely have you create and edit videos (for YouTube and social media) with training and inspiration for business owners. This can involve you being “on camera” if you’re interested in that, or can be more of back-end editing and production.

  • Admin & Ops. This will include setting up websites and other tech and admin jobs.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you are:

  • English/Spanish Bilingual (or very proficient). Currently, the majority of our clients are Spanish speakers and so most of the work will be conducted in Spanish. It’s important to be able to write and speak both English and Spanish professionally as well as informally.

  • A strong communicator. You’re a professional, warm, effective writer and communicator in person, by phone, and via email.

  • Solutions-minded. You’re constantly looking for things that are out of place or could be improved and coming up with ideas to improve them.

  • Self-directed. You expertly manage your own schedule and goals and are happy working remotely, on your laptop.

  • Adaptable and coachable. You are excited to learn new skills and get better over time -- and are great at communicating with a team on successes and challenges in the work. You ask questions if you're not clear on what you need to do.

  • Computer-savvy. You quickly and accurately use Google Docs, Google Calendar, Excel (and similar levels of software), and have strong research skills. You also learn new software super-easily.

Specifics: This is a part-time, 5-25 hours-per-week employee position (weeks will average 15 hours per week), paid at $20 per hour. We need you to be available during weekdays, although there is flexibility to choose your own working hours. You’ll primarily working from your home, with some in-person meetings in the Kingston, NY area. You need to have a well-functioning laptop with a great internet connection. There is a chance that this role could grow into a more permanent position if that’s something you want (and if that ends up working on our end.) NOTE: because of the specifics of our funding for this role, you MUST be a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student or individual who graduated from high school, college, or graduate school in 2023 or 2024. We are excited to hear from applicants of all backgrounds and identities and deeply value the unique perspective, values, and culture you’ll bring.

How to Apply: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so get it in as soon as you can! Once you’ve read this posting as carefully as you can and taken a look through our website (and the Briico Business Program page), you can apply here.
